AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
CURE BY DESIGN GALA
JUNE–SEPTEMBER 2026 CAMPAIGN

OVERVIEW

The Cure By Design Gala campaign was designed to transform a single fundraising event into a sustained four-month awareness and engagement initiative.

Working alongside the American Cancer Society, the objective is to build momentum leading up to the gala by increasing visibility, activating honorees and sponsors, educating the community on the mission, and driving support for fundraising efforts.

THE OPPORTUNITY

While the gala serves as a major fundraising event, awareness often remains limited to attendees, sponsors, and immediate supporters.

The opportunity is to create a comprehensive social media strategy that:

Expands audience reach
Increases community engagement
Activates honorees as advocates
Amplifies sponsor participation
Highlights the impact of fundraising efforts
Creates meaningful connections to the American Cancer Society mission

THE APPROACH

HONOREE AMPLIFICATION STRATEGY

Developed branded Canva templates allowing honorees to easily share their recognition and involvement across personal and professional networks.

Created a scalable ambassador program that turns each honoree into a distribution channel for the campaign.

HONOREE UNVEILING CAMPAIGN

Designed and deployed a structured content rollout introducing each honoree to the community.

Created anticipation while celebrating the leaders, advocates, and supporters being recognized.

MISSION-DRIVEN STORYTELLING

Produced content focused on the impact of cancer research, patient support programs, Hope Lodge services, and the initiatives funded through the event.

Connected fundraising efforts directly to real-world outcomes.

DOCUMENTARY-STYLE VIDEO CONTENT

Captured authentic interviews with honorees, supporters, and community leaders.

Utilized a Rembrandt-inspired visual style paired with mobile-first production techniques to create emotional, highly engaging content optimized for social media.
